Urban Youth Ministry – After-school Programs & Services for Youth offers after-school programs for at-risk youth that include after-school recreation and afterschool support. For over 95 years, Wayside Cross Ministries has provided restoration, recovery, and transitional housing for the impoverished, addicted, and abused. Its mission is to honor God by loving and serving the afflicted and powerless through sharing the Gospel of forgiveness and hope in Jesus Christ by empowering them to be disciples of Christ. Wayside Cross Ministries is described as a Bible-based, Christ-centered shelter and recovery center, and Urban Youth Ministry provides free educational support and after-school recreation for Aurora families, including an at-risk youth program with afterschool support and recreation and educational programs for economically disadvantaged youth. Wayside Cross Ministries is supported by church partners, individuals, and area businesses, and the ministry collaborates with many area organizations, churches, and ministries so people in need can find additional resources and support.
