About
Camp Compass Summer Camp offers weekly sessions that include games, activities, and field trips. Each week is described as being full of new games, activities, and field trips. Breakfast and an afternoon snack are provided daily, and campers bring their own lunch unless one is provided for an $8 fee when a lunch is forgotten.
• Ages: 4–13 years old
• Schedule: Time 7 AM–6 PM Monday–Friday, with weekly sessions running from Week 1 (6/1–6/5) through Week 11 (8/10–8/14), including shorter weeks on 6/15–6/18 (no June 19) and 6/29–7/2 (no July 3)

Camp Compass Summer Camp is a nut-free program. Campers who arrive before 8:30 AM receive breakfast, and pick-up is available from 4–6 PM, with campers asked to arrive no later than 9 AM. The program is license-exempt and is not licensed or regulated by DCFS, and the Belvidere Park District follows guidelines from the Illinois Department of Human Services and accepts requests for childcare assistance from DCFS.
Families are asked to send a backpack each day with a lunch, water bottle, sunscreen, swimsuit, and towel. All registration forms, health history, and emergency contact information are submitted through the online system ePACT, and children are registered for the grade they will enter for the 2026/2027 school year. Registration must be completed by Monday at 11:59 PM the week before attending, and billing happens weekly, with payments due by Tuesday at 4 PM before the camp week starts. A parent/camper handbook with policies and procedures is available upon registration and online under Programs & Events in the Camp section at www.belviderepark.org.
Camp Compass Summer Camp operates under the Belvidere Park District, which was established following a November 4, 1919 election approving the creation of the district and a five-member board of park commissioners. The Parks and Conservation Foundation’s mission is to assist the Belvidere Park District and the Boone County Conservation District to acquire and develop land, and it holds title to over 1 million dollars’ worth of land through grants. The Park District states that many programs and special events rely on volunteers to run.
