Gideon Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was the first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school to come to the Bloomington area. The school was established to provide Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction at a high level in a safe, progress-oriented learning environment, with instruction given by highly experienced instructors. Gideon Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has over twenty years of experience passing on knowledge to students and has produced many champions in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and striking competitions. Programs are described as meeting the specific learning needs of people from different ages and backgrounds, with the number one stated priority that all students learn how to defend themselves. Reported incidents include kids being bullied at school and adults attacked at college or on vacation, and in every incident mentioned, students were able to successfully defend themselves. The program also focuses on students growing as athletes and as people by learning values of respect, perseverance, and confidence.
