YMCA Camp Sparrow Summer Day Camp and Specialty Camps

YMCA Camp Sparrow Summer Day Camp and Specialty Camps includes weekly field trips, swimming, games, art, character development, fitness, team building, and singing. The program also offers specialty options such as Edible Engineers Specialty Camp, Junior Lifeguard Specialty Camp, LEGO Specialty Camps for grades K–2 and 3–5, Life of a Swiftie Specialty Camp, Mermaid Specialty Camp, and Icky Sticky S.T.E.A.M. Camp, which emphasizes safe, supervised, hands-on experiments so kids can “make the mess at the Y, not at home.” Life of a Swiftie Specialty Camp is a half-day camp with Taylor Swift-themed activities, and Mermaid Specialty Camp is a half-day camp with mermaid-themed crafts, water fun, and summer magic.

• Schedule: 2026 Summer Day Camp Season runs June 8th–August 14th, with weekly day camp options and specialty camps on stated date ranges such as June 22nd–26th, July 6th–10th, July 13th–17th, July 20th–24th, and July 27th–31st; families can choose 3-day or 5-day attendance with Before Care from 7:30 a.m.–8:30 a.m., Camp Day from 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., and After Care from 4:30 p.m.–5:30 p.m.
• Price: 2026 registration fee is $25 from March 1st–31st and $50 beginning April 1st; weekly 3-day rates range from $130–$145 for members and $250–$265 for nonmembers, and weekly 5-day rates range from $185–$200 for members and $360–$375 for nonmembers, with a $10 fee for late payments and a $25 fee for returned payments.

During the 2026 Summer Camp Season from June 8th–August 14th, certain YMCA areas have scheduled closures on Tuesdays and Thursdays, including Community Rooms, Caring + Responsibility Courts, Men’s and Women’s Locker Rooms, and the Rec/Therapy Pool at specified morning times, and during August 3rd–14th the Respect + Honesty Courts and Community Rooms are closed 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Pre-registration is required for each week a child attends, all participants must have a method of payment on file, registration fees are non-refundable, and weekly cancellations must be submitted in writing to the Youth Development department by email at least 7 days before the camp week to avoid charges, with system credits available for some late changes and no refund or credit issued with less than 5 days’ notice. YMCA members can register starting March 1st, nonmembers can register beginning April 1st, billing occurs weekly on Wednesdays with automatic processing, YMCA Financial Support and CCRRN are available for Camp Sparrow Summer Day Camp, and some camp sites and at least one specialty camp have reached capacity and offer a wait list.

The mission of the YMCA is “To put Christian principles into practice through programs, services and relationships that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all.” The gym will be closed from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 15th, in order to support the senior class at Bloomington High School, and community organizations sponsor the 2026 Camp Sparrow Summer Day Camp.
