Awesome Adventure Camp includes theme days, weekly special events, and a variety of games and activities such as Wacky Sports Day, Glow Party, Kickball, Man on Woodchips, Obstacle Course Relay, Scooter Hockey, Capture the Flag, Soccer, Freeze Dance, Glow in the Dark Dodgeball, Sharks & Minnows, Silent Ball, Backwards Baseball, Fruit Loop Bracelets, Four Square, Running Bases, and Make Your Own Neon Slime. Campers take part in field trips and outings that can include swimming at Coral Cove Water Park, visits to water parks, entertainment centers, movie theatres, baseball games, local parks, Coyote Crossing Mini Golf, McCaslin Splash Pad, and the Traveling World of Reptiles Special Event.
• Ages: 5–11 years old
• Schedule: Weekly registration for kids entering grades K–5, with camp running June 3–August 18; Before Camp is offered 7:00–9:00am, Summer Camp runs 9:00am–4:00pm, and After Camp runs 4:00–6:30pm; camp begins the first weekday after CCSD93 schools are out and ends the day before school resumes.
• Price: Early bird weekly rates before April 30 are Summer Camp $185R/$205NR for full weeks, $111R/$123NR for three-day weeks, and $74R/$82NR for two-day weeks; Before Camp $45R/$50NR full weeks, $27R/$30NR three-day weeks, and $18R/$20NR two-day weeks; After Camp $55R/$60NR full weeks, $33R/$36NR three-day weeks, and $22R/$24NR two-day weeks; standard weekly rates after April 30 are Summer Camp $195R/$215NR full weeks, $117R/$129NR three-day weeks, and $78R/$86R two-day weeks; Before Camp $50R/$55NR full weeks, $30R/$33NR three-day weeks, and $20R/$22NR two-day weeks; After Camp $60R/$65NR full weeks, $36R/$39NR three-day weeks, and $24R/$26NR two-day weeks; a $35 non-refundable enrollment fee and the first week of camp are due at registration.
The program states that counselors are great role models and that their top priority is to provide a safe place for children to have an active, rewarding summer, with a goal of offering a summer filled with memories that last a lifetime. Weekly special events can include magicians, inflatables, animal shows, gymnastics, and other activities. Registration runs on a weekly basis with no daily registration offered, weekly registration is offered so families can sign up for exactly what they need, and space in the Awesome Adventure Camp program is limited. After Camp includes a snack, and it is stated that After Camp includes a snack to tide kids over until dinner.
Only authorized individuals listed on the Emergency Contact and Release Form are permitted to sign a child out, and all participants must have at least one emergency contact who lives within a five-mile radius of the program location. Non-residents who attend District 93, District 25, and Pleasant Hill Schools or who are employees of a Carol Stream business are eligible for resident rates, and children currently enrolled in District 93, District 25, and Pleasant Hill schools who do not live in Carol Stream are eligible for registration discounts. Priority Registration from Jan. 12–Feb. 12 allows 2025 Adventure Campers and current ActivKids participants to register for the 2026 summer camp before public registration opens, and tax statements are automatically emailed to households with email addresses on file and mailed to all other homes by the end of January each year.
