About
DuPage Training Academy offers sports training that includes baseball and softball camps, clinics, leagues, showcases, and travel teams, along with private lessons and memberships. Athletes can use batting cage rentals and pitching tunnel rentals, take hitting lessons, and do speed and strength training, as well as indoor practice for fielding and base running drills. The facility also offers rentals for teams and individuals.

Instructors at DuPage Training Academy include former college and professional players. Staff members include Alex Troop, a pitcher in the Washington Nationals Organization who was drafted out of Michigan State University in 2017 and was a finalist for the John Olreud two-way player of the year award. Trey Harris played at the University of Missouri, was All-SEC Freshman in 2015, was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in 2018, was the 2019 Braves Minor League Player of the Year, a 2019 Arizona Fall League All Star, a 2019 Organizational All Star, a 2021 Double A Southern League Champion, and had a career .275 batting average in the minor leagues. Grant Davis was a standout outfielder at Morris High School, played at Concordia University Chicago where he contributed to four NACC Conference Championships, four NCAA regional appearances, and two Division III College World Series appearances, and has been training youth athletes and coaching travel baseball teams ages 14u–17u since 2016. Rick Dzingel is a former standout player at Louisiana Tech, co-head coach at Wheaton Academy High School, and coach for the 16U DTA Wildcats travel baseball team. Eddie Pieczynski was a two-year letter winner at Parkland Junior College and Illinois State University, led Illinois State University in hitting his senior year, and played professionally in the Independent Frontier League as a catcher. Krista Matsui was a four-year varsity letter winner in softball and earned letters in basketball and volleyball at Plainfield South High School, was selected by the Chicago Sun Times Super 60 in Illinois, and started at third base and shortstop at Northern Illinois University, playing in 151 out of 169 games. Brianna McKenzie earned All-Conference honors three years in a row at Glenbard North High School, was selected by the Chicago Sun Times Super 60 in Illinois, earned NJCAA All-American honors for catching at Kankakee Community College where her team finished 2nd and 3rd in the nation in 2010 and 2011, holds the record for most hits in a season at Kankakee, and later played at Judson University where she earned NAIA Player of the Week multiple times. Danni Battaglia broke and held the stolen bases record at Glenbard East High School, earned All-Conference varsity honors in softball, recorded a 2.58-second home-to-first time at major tournaments in 2006, and was part of a travel team that won the Illinois State Championship tournament before going on to the University of Michigan, where the team won the 2009 Big Ten Conference, a super regional title, and placed 5th at the 2009 Women’s College World Series. Lauren Vaughn graduated from Wheaton North High School in 2022, played four years of varsity softball with a batting average over .400 each season, earned multiple All-Conference, All-Area, and All-State honors, broke and held school records for stolen bases and home runs, played for the Beverly Bandits and was a PGF National Qualifier, committed to Syracuse in 8th grade and played one year there, and is the Cheetahs 18u Assistant Coach. The program’s mission statement is “Where the dream begins.”
