Summer Camps offers weekly sessions that include crafts, sports and games, music, arts, story time, and both indoor and outdoor activities. Campers take part in weekly pool visits, field trips, snacks, fitness, swimming, dance, performing arts, and, in some camps, biking with bike safety and road rules instruction. Teen Trailblazers Camp includes afternoon swims Monday through Thursday and a full day biking expedition on Fridays.

• Ages: 3–17 years old
• Schedule: Weekly camps run June 1 – August 7, 2026, with Summer Preschool Camps and Creative Kids Summer Camp running weekly June 1 – August 7, and Adventure Explorers Camps and Teen Trailblazers Camp running weekly June 1 – July 31.
• Price: A $20 non-refundable deposit per child, per session is required to hold a spot; CCRS approved families may register by paying a $10 deposit per child, per session.

Summer Preschool Camps can be scheduled part-time or all day. Adventure Explorers Camps are planned with returning activities and new activities and include a focus on self-esteem, interpersonal skills, and making lasting memories. Creative Kids Summer Camp offers an introduction to arts, crafts, dance, and performing arts by specialized instructors. Teen Trailblazers Camp offers two weekly themes, “Pedal & Explore” and “Trips & Travel,” with Trips & Travel described as an out-of-town travel camp and Pedal & Explore including comprehensive bike safety and road rules instruction on the first day and rides up to 5 miles one way.

For Adventure Explorers Camps, each child should bring a water bottle, swimsuit, and towel daily, and bring their own lunch with no peanuts or nut products. For Creative Kids Summer Camp, each participant should bring a water bottle daily, a nut-free snack for morning and afternoon, and lunch. Teen Trailblazers Camp campers should have a bike, bike lock, helmet, water bottle, backpack, sack lunch, and snacks. Participants must pay at least the required non-refundable deposit per child, per session to hold a spot.

Champaign-Urbana Special Recreation is formed through a cooperative agreement with the Champaign and Urbana Park Districts and offers inclusion services for Champaign Park District programs, including one-on-one aides if needed. Champaign Park District offers scholarships to reduce program fees and charges, and scholarships must be approved before registering. Child Care Resource Service helps income-eligible parents who are working and/or going to school to pay for their child care. Champaign Park District is an Illinois Distinguished Agency and has been accredited through IPRA/IAPD since 2000.

The mission of Champaign-Urbana Special Recreation is to create a diverse, dynamic, and inclusive community that provides opportunities for people of all abilities.
