The Wayne McClain Basketball Camps and Clinics operate under the Wayne McClain Pipeline Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded and developed by Sergio McClain in 2011 as The 217309 Pipeline Organization and renamed in 2015. The foundation’s mission is to uplift youth through mentorship, leadership development, academic tutoring, recreational opportunities, and health and wellness guidance, with the aim of nurturing lifelong learners who become leaders and positive change-makers in their communities. The leadership team includes Sergio McClain as President and Chairman, Robin McClain as Vice President, Brindeshie McClain as Secretary, and Sergio McClain Jr. as Undersecretary and Website Manager.
Sergio McClain’s original Pipeline initiative incorporated fundamentals from his own upbringing, emphasizing the necessity of both a strong mind and body. The 217 309 initiative was designated for tutorial assistance in all educational areas, with particular focus on reading, writing, and math skills, and a secondary portion focused on principles of physical fitness, including active participation in organized exercises. The program was designed to serve as an interface between academics and fitness for low income, low achieving youth, 6–19 years of age who were enrolled in a Title I school. The Wayne McClain Basketball Camps and Clinics are also open to travel to participants.
