Northside Chicago AYSO Soccer Programs offers youth soccer, competitive travel soccer, goalkeeper clinics, striker clinics, advanced training camps, and team camps. The Core Program includes regular “house” AYSO teams, and some players also participate on AYSO EXTRA competitive travel teams. AYSO Soccer Camps include full-day, half-day, and mini camps, along with broader game play and position-specific training.
• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: Core Program runs in the Fall from September to mid November and in the Spring from mid April to mid June, with most Core Program games on Sunday afternoons
Northside Chicago AYSO has different programs available throughout the year, including the Core Program, AYSO EXTRA, SELECT, and AYSO Soccer Camps. In the EXTRA Program, players are on both a regular “house” AYSO team and an EXTRA team, giving them two games each week and 2–3 total practices. EXTRA teams have well-trained, experienced volunteer coaches, and their practices are led by paid professional trainers. The SELECT Program currently serves older players who are boys born in 2012–2013 and compete against club teams across the Chicagoland area in the Young Sportsmen's Soccer League (YSSL), with SELECT teams also having well-trained, experienced volunteer coaches and practices led by paid professional trainers.
Northside Chicago AYSO states its mission as providing world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives. The organization partners with Chicago Public Schools to enhance youth sports programming through its connection with the American Youth Soccer Organization. Michael Karon, President of AYSO, received the Stack Leadership Award from Stack Sports for his impact in the world of sports volunteering.
