Chicago Shakespeare Theater Student Matinee & Education Programs offers student matinee performances reserved entirely for students in grades 6–12. Student Matinee offerings range from full-length productions to the Short Shakespeare! program. Two plays, The Winter’s Tale and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, are performed in repertory by one company of 14 actors, and open captioning is available for performances on Wednesday, December 2.

• Price: Matinee performances reserved entirely for students grades 6–12 are available during the academic year at a deeply subsidized ticket price.
It is Chicago Shakespeare Theater’s 40th Anniversary season. The Artistic Director of Chicago Shakespeare Theater is Edward Hall, who is also the director of The Winter’s Tale and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Illinoise is described as a Tony Award-winning phenomenon. Hundreds of Chicago-area high school and college students attended a special appearance by Sir Ian McKellen at Chicago Shakespeare Theater for a benefit performance.
