Sports for Kids offers adaptive sports and recreation programs that include adaptive sailing, archery, cycling, judo, karate, swimming, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair softball, summer sports camps, sports clinics, and special events for kids. The program also includes junior competitive swimming, junior competitive wheelchair softball, and junior competitive wheelchair basketball. To participate in adaptive sports, participants must fill out an intake form.

• Price: Sports for kids programs are free of charge.

Sports for Kids offers adaptive sports and recreation programs for children with a diagnosed primary loss or impairment of physical function. Activities promote fitness, independence, friendship and fun. Children of all skill levels are welcome in every program, and the program offers recreational opportunities that introduce participants to adaptive sports in a fun, instructional setting. The Sports for Kids program includes options for beginners through competitive adaptive athletes, with all activities focused on keeping kids active, building community and having fun. Shirley Ryan AbilityLab offers both individual and team sports, and teams practice weekly and travel to out-of-town competitions under the guidance of educated and trained coaching staff. These experiences help participants build athletic skills and independence under the guidance of trained and educated coaching staff. Participants who live in Chicago are eligible for door-to-door transportation. Clinics and special events support skill-building, fitness and community for kids ages 6–21.
