Chicago Westside Sports offers Club Baseball, AAU Basketball, and Team USA Archery. The program offers these sports at zero cost to participants in under-resourced communities.
• Schedule: Weekday and Saturday hours, with activities available Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and on Saturday from 8:00 am to 6:30 pm

Chicago Westside Sports states that its purpose is to promote safe activities for children and their families in high-crime, under-resourced areas. It is a gathering of volunteers representing local organizations and churches, community members, and the Chicago Police Department working together so youth can engage in safe and healthy activities. The program’s Full Court Press initiative combines the efforts of local police, churches, and community organizations, and it uses a three-legged stool model to fully support each team. There is faith-based participation, involvement from the Chicago Police Department, and support from businesses that have given funds and allowed their staff to build into these communities. In-kind gifts of uniforms, equipment, and monetary donations are always appreciated. Parents and participants have shared that “When we are out here playing baseball, it’s a different environment,” that “For that moment in time these kids get to escape to a place where they are safe and they are happy,” and that “It helps people become friends and come together as a team.”
