About
Child Care and Early Learning Programs offers early learning, child care, and out-of-school time options where infants, preschoolers, and school-age children spend time in staffed settings. At this program, infants develop trust and security, preschoolers experience early literacy and learn about their world, and school-age kids make friends, learn new skills, and get help with their schoolwork. Ys across the country offer full-day and partial-day early learning opportunities and child care for infants through preschoolers in these programs.

The Y’s early learning, child care and out-of-school time offerings are staffed with people who understand the cognitive, physical and social development of kids, the support parents and families need and the importance of maintaining a safe, clean environment for children to learn and thrive.
The YMCA is the leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community by empowering young people, improving the health and well-being of people of all ages and inspiring action in and across communities. The Y serves more than 64 million people in 120 countries, and across the U.S., Ys reach millions of people in 10,000 communities. Each year, 18 million community members are served annually across the U.S., including 2.4 million youths in food programs and 244,000 overnight camp participants in day and overnight camps. There are 2,597 Ys across the U.S., across 50 states, plus the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
The National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) has identified the Y as a partner for afterschool programming, and the Y and the Walmart Foundation have partnered together to help provide food to children who need it most.
