Merry Music Makers

Merry Music Makers offers early childhood music education that includes Music Together Mixed-Ages classes, Babies Only music classes, Music Together con Español bilingual English/Spanish mixed-ages music classes, and Rhythm Kids classes. In Rhythm Kids classes, children sing, move, compose, and play rhythms using instruments like the djembe and their voices and bodies. Music Together is a licensed curriculum for early childhood music education, and Merry Music Makers is licensed by Music Together LLC.

Serving communities on the Northside since 2001, Merry Music Makers also offers Music Together con Español as a bilingual English/Spanish version of the Music Together mixed-ages class, with Mixed-Ages classes for children 0–5 years old. Rhythm Kids is described as a screen-free way for children to connect, create, and grow through improvisation and collaboration. Music Together families can use the Music Together app from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store, and can log in or create an account with the code in the songbook to get songs into the app; if not enrolled in class, the app comes preloaded with the Welcome Collection of 12 songs. One parent, Emily W., described the school as “such a special music school” with “incredibly engaging and unique” classes and praised Ms. Jacque’s “exceptional warmth and impressive energy.” Another parent, Erica J., shared that their child started Ms. Katie’s class at 2 months old and “has learned so much over the past year through exploration and watching the older kids in the mixed-age group,” and noted Ms. Katie’s ability to keep the class cohesive and moving while allowing for flexibility and fun.
