Small class sizes are limited to sixteen students, and students of all skill levels can take part in any given class. Instructors provide each individual student the amount of attention required, and the focus is entirely on the visual arts. Registration is required, scholarships and financial assistance are available for the complete cost of a class for each full 30 hour-session in any media, and Half-Sessions of five classes are available in very limited capacity for select classes, with discounts not applying to Half-Sessions. Up to two art classes can be made up within a session, there are no refunds after the first class, and classes with fewer than five students may be cancelled. Representatives from the Old Town Triangle Association (OTTA) may take photos of participants and their artwork during class sessions for OTTA use in publications and on the website, and participants can notify OTTA if they do not want photos taken of them.

Don Yang has taught painting and drawing for the past 22 years at the American Academy of Art. The Old Town Art Center offers specialized art classes seasonally, and workshops are added periodically. OTTA membership is open to all, and anyone can become a member of the Old Town Triangle Association. The Old Town Triangle Association serves the Chicago neighborhood known as “The Triangle” with physical improvements and social events to create a sense of community, and the Old Town Art Fair has been voted #1 in America.
