SportStrong Basketball offers AAU basketball and basketball for youth players. The program is part of the SportStrong AAU Basketball Club, which was established in 2001 and is one of the original AAU basketball clubs in the Bay Area. Teams compete in organized AAU basketball at both local and national levels.
• Ages: 7–17 years old
SportStrong Basketball is led by Director Joe See. Coaches are professionally trained and consist of former high school and college coaches. The program is designed for both elite players and recreational players from 7–17 years of age. Its stated mission is to use basketball as a tool to teach life skills including Respect, Perseverance, Sportsmanship, Patience, and Dedication. SportStrong AAU teams have earned recognition such as 9U MVP Champs, 10U MVP League Champs, 11U MVP Champs, and participation by the Lady SportStrongers in Reno. Alumni of the program have gone on to win California High School State Championships, receive Division 1 scholarships, and hold high school scoring records. The program also notes community involvement under the theme “SportStrong giving back.”
