Woodlawn Arts Academy Programs include a wide range of activities such as Podcast Power Camp, Be a YouTube Star Camp, Winter Wonderland Art Camp, Aqua Art Adventure Camp, Fashion Fun Camp, Stained Glass and Mosaic Art Camp, Enchanted Forest Art Camp, Astronauts and Art Camp, Jungle Journey Art Camp, Weather Wonders Art Camp, and Storytime Art Adventures in the Park. Students can also take part in 2026 Spring Music Recitals Instrumental, the 2026 Dance Recitals: ‘In the Name of Dance’, and the 2026 Juried Art Exhibit. The visual arts program includes 2D and 3D art such as drawing, painting, photography, clay, glass and mixed media, and the Academy also offers private visual arts lessons, music, dance, theatre, culinary arts, STEM and literary arts programming, and a Preschool program.

• Schedule: Students may register prior to each 8-week session.
• Price: For dance, a $50 per dance costume deposit is due along with the Session 2 payment; the costume balance is due along with the Session 3 payment.
Programs are taught by dedicated, educated and experienced staff members. Woodlawn Arts Academy states that it is the premier arts-based, educational institution of the Sauk Valley area and uses the motto “Where the Arts are for EVERYONE!” During the course of a year, the Academy offers four art exhibits featuring professional artists from the area as well as students of Woodlawn Arts Academy and area schools; four musicals featuring students in 1st through 8th grades; a summer outdoor theatre production featuring adult actors; three annual dance recitals featuring dancers age 3 through adult; two music recitals starring students age 4–adult; and three rock concerts starring students age 12–adult. Every student who registers for Woodlawn Arts Academy’s student theatre programs gets a part. Woodlawn Arts Academy offers more than $21,000 annually in financial assistance to those who qualify.
Woodlawn Arts Academy offers arts outreach programming to local schools and organizations. Rehearsals for musicals move to Sauk Valley Community College’s Jerry Mathis Theatre through the Sauk Valley Theatre Alliance partnership with Sauk Valley Community College and Centennial Auditorium. Woodlawn Arts Academy is a member agency of United Way of Whiteside County and United Way of Lee County and acknowledges support from the Illinois Arts Council. Woodlawn Arts Academy is a place to bring a field trip and can offer indoor and/or outdoor programming for groups of all ages and sizes in all disciplines of the arts.
