Creations Dance Studio offers dance and tumbling classes that include hip hop, street dance, breaking, ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, contemporary, lyrical, and tumbling. The studio also holds free events such as pumpkin carving, drive-in movie nights, tye-dye parties, costume swaps, and organizes fundraisers.
• Ages: 2–18 years old
• Schedule: Fall registration is in-house, with classes assigned on a first come first serve basis on Tuesday September 2nd from 6:00–8:00PM and Thursday September 4th from 7:00–9:00PM.
• Price: Tuition as low as $25/mo. Classes start at just $25/mo. With the unlimited plan, a family of 4 students can take unlimited weekly classes for only $135/month.
Creations Dance Studio offers daytime and evening classes, HomeSchool dance and tumbling classes for every age with parents always welcome, and beginning and advanced adult classes. The studio describes itself as a local, family dance studio with a rich family history, is family owned and operated with three generations of dancers, and notes that many students stay from preschool to high school graduation and longer. It uses a one-of-a-kind tuition model to make dance classes affordable for the whole family, is described as the most affordable dance studio in the Peoria area by far, and offers family plans for unlimited classes.
Creations Dance Studio was opened in August 2010 by Sheryl and Shannon Huggins, a mother and daughter team. Sheryl began her dance career at age 12 and began teaching at 15 years old. Shannon began dancing at age 3, competing at age 9, and began teaching dance at 15 years old. Shannon’s daughter, Kali, is the Junior Jazz and Lyrical Coach, assistant coach for the mini hip hop team, is on the Senior level competitive dance teams and the Elite tumbling team, and teaches recreational hip hop and tumbling classes while attending college. The studio has over 60 years of experience.
Creations Dance Studio has platinum winning competitive teams, and each year its competitive teams, soloists, and coaches bring home multiple overall awards, platinum and elite gold adjudication awards, and judge’s awards from competitions throughout the Midwest. The studio describes its students as national champions and local National Champions. It competes at competitions throughout the Midwest and appeared on NEWS25 WEEK, showing breaking skills and talking about breaking in the 2024 Olympics. The studio is proud to be the only studio in the area that teaches breaking and street dance with their hip hop classes, assigns team leaders to each competitive team, and uses a Big Brothers/Sisters system where older kids are assigned younger kids. Advanced students can serve as student helpers who help choreograph, teach, and spot recreational classes. The studio organizes 3–5 fundraisers each year to help competitive students cover competition fees.
