About
StagePlay Learning Summer Theater Camps offers weeklong themed theater camps that include theater games, creative play, daily crafts, snack, and a Final Showcase Performance. Camp activities include improv theater games, collaborative writing, monologue development, theater exercises, creative games, improvisation, diction, voice training, acting lessons, acting classes, and one-on-one coaching. The program also offers audition preparation, studio rental, and birthday party hosting.

• Schedule: Weeklong themed theater camps with morning and afternoon options for Pre-K–2nd grade and 3rd–5th grade
• Price: Tuition for all camps is $195, including a $25 non-refundable fee required to hold the student’s space in camp, due at registration.
Themed sessions include “Wicked” and “Minecraft” for Pre-K–2nd grade and 3rd–5th grade, with morning sessions from 9am–Noon and afternoon sessions from 1pm–4pm on specific July weeks. Each session concludes with a Final Showcase where family and friends are invited to watch, and daily crafts are used as props and sets for this performance. Camp class sizes are limited and fill quickly, and the studio also offers acting lessons and theater classes and camps for all ages, along with studio rental for recitals, private lessons, and events like birthday parties.
StagePlay Learning Summer Theater Camps is led by owner Amy Prince. Staff includes Anna Gallaher, who has been teaching acting lessons for over a year and attends SIUE majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in Vocal Performance and Music seeking an endorsement in Music; Tressel Eckman, a graduate of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a BA in Theater Performance; and Grace Costello, a Social Studies teacher in the Edwardsville School District and a 2023 graduate of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Amy Prince attended college for Musical Theater as a triple threat and later gained degrees in English Literature with a Shakespeare focus, Music Literature, Vocal Pedagogy, and Vocal Performance.
The studio’s mission is to educate children Pre-K through 5th grade to grow their self-confidence and develop social skills for the stage and for life through interactive play, encouraging imagination, creativity, and self-thinking in each class and camp. StagePlay Learning is a Tessitura Music, LLC company serving Edwardsville, Glen Carbon, Collinsville, Maryville, Troy, Bethalto, Wood River, Swansea, Belleville, Mascoutah, Alton, Lebanon, and surrounding communities in the St. Louis Metro East.
