Three Fires Council Scouting Programs and Camps

Three Fires Council Scouting Programs and Camps offers summer day camps, weekend activities, camping, Merit Badge University, the Sporting Clays Classic, and camporees. The council operates these Scouting programs and camps under the name Three Fires Council Scouting Programs and Camps.

For over 100 years, Scouting programs have instilled in youth the values found in the Scout Oath and Scout Law. The mission of Scouting America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Scouting America is described as the nation’s foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training. Scouting programs help youth develop academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership skills, and citizenship skills. Scouting America brings together youth of every race, religion, ethnic background, and economic status in programs to develop character, citizenship, and fitness, and states that prejudice, intolerance, and unlawful discrimination are unacceptable within its ranks.

Scouting America Three Fires Council serves nearly 8,000 youth in Illinois across DeKalb County, DuPage County, Kane County, Kendall County, and portions of Cook and Will Counties, through three volunteer-led districts and community partners. The council offers summer day camps and weekend activities throughout the council and operates Camp Big Timber in Elgin, Illinois. The Scout Shop hours are Sunday and Monday closed; Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM; Wednesday and Friday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM; and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, while office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
