About

Flying Fish Aquatics offers a range of water activities, including the Flying Fish Swim Team, Flying Fish Swim School, lap swimming, family swimming, Masters, aqua aerobics, and pool parties. The program also includes a Learn to Swim program as part of its offerings.

YWCA Evanston/North Shore hosts this comprehensive aquatics program. Swim lesson instructors and swim coaches are professionals, and almost all have been with the program for many years. Coaching methods and objectives reinforce life lessons that apply in and out of the pool. Flying Fish Aquatics is part of a mission-based not-for-profit organization whose roots stretch back to 1931. YWCA Evanston/North Shore is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. The Flying Fish Aquatics program offers scholarship opportunities so children can access life-saving skills and lifelong health, confidence building, and personal growth opportunities, and it conducts outreach to community members whose children might not otherwise have the chance to learn to swim. Each year, the swim team raises close to $100,000 to support the programs and services of YWCA Evanston/North Shore, and these funds flow back into making communities better places to live for all members. YWCA Evanston/North Shore has a 4-star (highest) Charity Navigator rating. The leadership team includes Erin Venable, VP Marketing and Communications.
