The program notes that projects are designed to be age-appropriate, engaging, and reflective of the world, and that there are over 100 weekly camp options. All tools and materials are provided except for specified device-based camps, and for photography, video, and iPad classes and camps, each student is required to bring their own camera or iPad; campers in Procreate camps need to bring an iPad and stylus.

Summer camps are led by practicing artists, designers, and animators who bring their experience into each camp. One River School’s mission statement says it has transformed the summer camp experience by developing creative camps in America. Member testimonials describe the classes as a respite from the world, say that they leave feeling calm and centered, and note that teachers are incredible and that they feel welcome and supported.
