Glen Ellyn Park District Camps include school break camps during spring, fall, and winter breaks, as well as school day-off camps and programs that provide fun activities and supervision during school closures. A Teen Splash Bash at Sunset Pool is open to kids ages 10–14. The Summer Kick-Off Bash at Ackerman Park features DJ Damian, a bounce house, crafts, face painting, and a movie in the park at dusk. The Bike Rodeo at Main Street Recreation Center offers a bike obstacle course, free helmet checks, bike decorating, bike maintenance education, and road safety education, and is free with registration for ages 3 to 12; participants in the Bike Rodeo should bring their own bike and a properly fitted helmet. Camp information is included in the Summer Camp Guide, and upcoming school break camps and school day-off camps are listed in the current Playbook.

The Glen Ellyn Park District was established on November 3, 1919, as an independent governmental agency. The District maintains 29 parks, operates 21 playground structures, and maintains over 300 acres of open space, and each year offers more than 700 programs and special events. Its mission is to foster diverse, community-based leisure opportunities through a blend of recreation programs, facilities, and open space. Net proceeds from the Gator Race benefit the Glen Ellyn Parks Foundation.
