Vertical Endeavors Youth Programs offers summer climbing camps, Basic Top Rope Skills, Climbing 101: Intro to Climbing, Climbing 201: Intermediate Technique, Sport Lead, Private Lesson, VEB Clinics, Day Pass, 10-Visit Pass, and Rental Package options. The summer climbing camps include Base Camp, Peak Experience, and One-Day Climbing Camp, and the lesson and clinic options include knot tying, belaying, rope management skills, technical equipment, climbing commands, top rope anchors, crack climbing, rappelling, and multi-pitch transition.

Programs

  • Summer Climbing Camp — Children; Base Camp ages 6–9, Peak Experience ages 10–13, One-Day Climbing Camp age 6–13 · Week-long camps in summer between May-August; one-day camps are 6 hours and offered year-round; one-day camp runs 9 am–3 pm on select out-of-school days throughout fall, winter, spring, and summer · $90–$390 · Base Camp and Peak Experience are week-long camps; One-Day Climbing Camp is a 6-hour session.
  • Basic Top Rope Skills — Ages 14+ · $15–$40 · Beginner lesson covering knot tying, belaying, rope management skills, technical equipment, and climbing commands.
  • Climbing 101: Intro to Climbing — Offered at VE–Twin Cities Bouldering only.
  • Climbing 201: Intermediate Technique — Prerequisites: 5.9/V2-V3; offered at VE–Twin Cities Bouldering only.
  • Sport Lead — Ages 16+ · $35–$55 · Lesson on leading sport routes; prerequisites include flash level 5.9 and qualification to top rope belay at Vertical Endeavors.
  • Private Lesson — Open to all ages · Private climbing lessons; schedule in advance. Rentals included.
  • VEB Clinics — All Ages · Clinics on topics including Movement & Technique, Top Rope Anchors, Intro to Trad Lead, Sport Lead Transition, Crack Climbing, Escape the Belay, Rappelling, and Multi-Pitch Transition.

About the provider

Participants under age 14 must have adult supervision. Members and guests under age 18 must have agreements and forms signed by a parent or court-appointed legal guardian. Camp cancellation has a $50 fee. Rental climbing shoes are available for $5, and camp participants need a snack, lunch, and water bottle Monday through Thursday.

  • Day Pass — Youth/Young Adult ages 4–20; Family Day Pass includes parents and dependents age 20 or under · $20–$80 · Facility orientation for new climbers; facility access for the day; access to auto belays, top ropes, lead routes, bouldering areas, and daily yoga & fitness classes.
  • 10-Visit Pass — $205 · Facility orientation for new climbers; access to auto belays, top ropes, lead routes, and bouldering areas; pass never expires and can be shared between family members and friends.
  • Rental Package — $13 · Shoes, harness, belay device, and chalk bag available individually.

Participants under the age of 14 are required to have adult supervision. Members and guests under the age of 18 must have agreements and forms signed by a parent or court-appointed legal guardian. Children under the age of 14 must not be allowed to climb without adult supervision. Cancellation fee for camps is $50.
