About

Glenview School of Arts offers art classes that include drawing and painting, ceramics, sculpture, digital art, fashion illustration, storybook making, and animation. Students take part in hands-on projects using different mediums and techniques, and the school also offers High School Summer Art Classes, a Summer Digital Art Class, a Valentine’s Day Paint Night, high school AP art classes, and a portfolio development program for high school students. The program includes art classes for children, teens, and adults, as well as an Art Teacher Training Program.

Glenview School of Arts is an art school that opened in 2001 under the direction of DongJoo Suh. Classes provide a fun and positive atmosphere for children to learn the basic principles and build a strong foundation in art. The school offers an Illinois Board of Higher Education certified Art Teacher Training Program for anyone over 18 with a high school diploma.

The leadership team includes DongJoo Suh as Director; Xing Tan as Manager and Art Instructor for drawing and painting; Kinga Kurylonek as Art Instructor for drawing and ceramics; and Maureen Bucsit as Art Instructor for drawing and KinderArt. DongJoo graduated from Ewha-Womans University in Korea in 1982 and obtained her Master’s degree in Fine Art in 1985, and her work has been shown in multiple galleries in the United States and South Korea, including solo exhibitions in 2014. Xing Tan holds a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Studio Arts from Northeastern Illinois University (2015) and a Master of Arts in Studio Arts from Northern Illinois University (2019), has participated in group and solo exhibitions, and has a public sculpture collected by Jiangnan University in China. Kinga Kurylonek completed an Associate in Fine Art, Photography at Wright Community College in Chicago and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Rhode Island School of Design, and has experience in fine art sculpture, drawing, and work with corporate art industries. Maureen Bucsit is enrolled in an Associate in Science program at Harper College with a planned Bachelor of Science in Nursing major and previously worked as a Children’s Spiritual Art Teacher in Manila.
