About

Glenview School of Arts offers art classes that include drawing and painting, ceramics, sculpture, digital art, fashion illustration, storybook making, and animation. The program also offers an Advanced Summer Art Camp, High School Summer Art Classes, a Summer Digital Art Class, art classes for children, teens, and adults, high school AP art classes, and a portfolio development program for high school students. Students in the summer camp explore 2–3 hands-on projects daily using different mediums and techniques, with flexible part-time and full-time options available.

• Schedule: Summer Camp 2026 runs June 8–August 22, 2026, with class options Monday through Thursday and Saturday at various times.

Glenview School of Arts opened in 2001 under the direction of DongJoo Suh. Classes provide a fun and positive atmosphere for children to learn the basic principles and build a strong foundation in art. The leadership team includes Director DongJoo Suh; Manager and Art Instructor (Drawing & Painting) Xing Tan; Art Instructor (Drawing & Ceramic) Kinga Kurylonek; and Art Instructor (Drawing & KinderArt) Maureen Bucsit. DongJoo graduated from Ewha-Womans University in Korea in 1982 and obtained her Master’s degree in Fine Art in 1985, and her work has been shown in multiple galleries, including solo exhibitions at the Redmacher Gallery in Chicago and the Kyung In Gallery in South Korea in 2014. Xing Tan earned a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Studio Arts from Northeastern Illinois University in 2015 and a Master of Arts (Studio Arts) from Northern Illinois University in 2019, and her public sculpture “Cityscape” was collected by Jiangnan University in China. Kinga Kurylonek studied at Wright Community College in Chicago, completed an Associate in Fine Art, Photography, and later earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Rhode Island School of Design before continuing her studio work. Maureen Bucsit is enrolled in the Associate in Science program at Harper College, with a major in Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Glenview School of Arts also offers an Illinois Board of Higher Education certified Art Teacher Training Program for anyone over 18 with a high school diploma.
