About

Elite Speed is an athletic program that offers speed and agility training along with position-specific football training. Athletes can take part in Running Back Training, Wide Receivers Training, DB/LB Training, and Offensive Line Training. The program also offers a Drop In Class, Semi-Private Training, Boys Speed & Agility Class, Girls Speed & Agility Class, Youth Coed Speed and Agility Class, a Free Trial Session, and Elite Speed 7v7 tryouts. During the Free Trial Session, participants go through a dynamic warm-up, speed and agility drills, and position-specific football training, and coaches use this time to assess each athlete’s skill level and determine the best training fit moving forward.

• Schedule: Free Trial Session includes a dynamic warm-up, speed and agility drills, and position-specific football training

Elite Speed states that its mission is to deliver speed and agility training and provide exposure through education, leadership, discipline, and motivation, with the goal that every athlete leaves as a better athlete and a better person. The program describes its role as serving as a resource for boys and girls in the St. Louis Metropolitan area and is built around three stated pillars of success: Aspire, Achieve, Advance. The program’s leadership team includes Cameron James (CEO), Justin Johnson (Sr. Running Back Coach), Eric Bergman (Offensive Line Coach), Pierre Tucker (Defensive Back & Linebacker Coach), Sherond Boyd (Speed & Agility Assistant Coach), and James Walker (Speed & Agility Assistant Coach). Facts from testimonials note that Coach CJ encourages healthy eating, good grades, and being respectful, and that he observes when a Type 1 diabetic athlete needs a break during workouts.

Parent and grandparent testimonials report changes they have seen in their own children’s or grandchildren’s experiences at Elite Speed, including comments about confidence, running form, speed, coordination, and athleticism. Several families specifically mention training for football, softball, and national-level competition, and describe Elite Speed and Coach James (CJ) as important in their children’s athletic development over months or years.
