Granite City High School Summer Sports Camps offers baseball, boys basketball, boys soccer, cross country, football, girls basketball, girls’ volleyball, and softball. Each sport meets on specific dates and times, with campers grouped by grade level for instruction.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Camps run on specific dates from late May through early August, with sessions scheduled in the morning, afternoon, or evening depending on the sport.
• Price: Baseball: $30; Boys Basketball: $40; Boys Soccer: $30; Cross Country: $20; Football: $30; Girls Basketball: $30; Girls Volleyball: $30; Softball: $30.
Baseball camp runs July 13–15, with K–3rd grade from 9–10:15 a.m. and 4th–9th grade from 10:30–11:45 a.m. Boys basketball runs May 27–29 for students entering 3rd–10th grade from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. Boys soccer runs June 2–4 for students entering 3rd–9th grade from 6–7:30 p.m. Cross country runs August 3–7 for students entering 5th–12th grade from 6:30–8:30 a.m. Football runs June 9–11 for students entering 3rd–8th grade from 5–7 p.m. Girls basketball runs June 15–19 for students entering 5th–9th grade from 1–3 p.m. Girls volleyball runs July 28–30, with 9th–12th grade from 4–6 p.m. and 5th–8th grade from 6–7:30 p.m. Softball runs May 26–28 for students entering 5th–8th grade from 10 a.m.–12 p.m.
GCHS Camps are designed to instruct athletes on fundamental skills involved in their sport in a fun and enthusiastic atmosphere, and athletes are divided by grade level and skill level for individual instruction. Camps are directed by the Granite City High School coaching staff along with current players from the Warrior teams. The leadership team includes Baseball Head Coach Scott Smallie, Boys Basketball Head Coach Gerard Moore, Boys Soccer Head Coach Robert Brooksher, Cross Country Head Coach Tom Miller, Football Head Coach Sherand Boyd Jr., Girls Basketball Head Coach Jackson Pierce, Girls Volleyball Head Coach Grace Hurst, and Softball Head Coach Tim Wilson. The baseball, boys basketball, boys soccer, football, girls basketball, and girls volleyball camps each include a t-shirt, and the boys basketball and football camps also include lunch.
