About
Fun-N-Sun Day Camp includes outdoor exploration, free play, story time, science, Bible Time, art, and water play for Beginner Camp. Base Camp includes gym games, art, cooking, drama, outdoor team games, water play, Bible Time, brain games, STEM, and wilderness exploration.

- Ages: 4–12 years old
- General schedule: Regular Day Camp: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm. Drop-off Period: 8:30 am - 9:00 am. Pick-up Period: 3:30 pm - 4:00 pm. AM Extended Care: 7:00 am - 8:30 am. PM Extended Care: 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday follow a typical daily schedule. Tuesday and Thursday follow the morning schedule then head out to the Grayslake Pool during the afternoon.
About the provider
Diane Henke is the director, and Dale Henke is her partner in running the camp. Diane Henke has a Masters of Education from the University of Minnesota, a Bachelor of Science in Family Social Science and Youth Studies, is a Certified Parent Educator, and is a Trauma Competent Affiliate Trainer with Trauma Free World.
- Beginner Camp — 4-6 · Daily; Tuesdays and Thursdays include water play and Grayslake Pool time is for Grades 2-7 only · Age-appropriate activities include outdoor exploration and free play, story time, science, Bible Time, art, and water play.
- Base Camp — Entering Grades 2-7 in the fall · Daily; Tuesdays and Thursdays go swimming at the Grayslake Aquatic Center · Age-appropriate activities include gym games, art, cooking, drama, outdoor team games, water play, Bible Time, brain games, STEM, and wilderness exploration.
Registration is now closed for the 2026 Season. Extended Care is available for a fee on Daily and Weekly rates. Trips to the Grayslake Pool are for Grades 2-7 only. Beginner Campers remain on campus and have outdoor water play.
