Camp Lions Youth Camps offers multiple week-long youth camp sessions under the Lions of Illinois Foundation. Sessions include Camp Lions Youth Week for Low Vision/Blind and/or Hard of Hearing/Deaf participants, a Youth Week for Hard of Hearing/Deaf and Low Vision/Blind participants, a Hard of Hearing/Deaf Youth Week, and a Low Vision/Blind Youth Week.
• Ages: 7–17 years old
• Schedule: Week-long sessions with Sunday check-in and Saturday check-out on select dates in June and July
The June 7th–June 13th Camp Lions Youth Week for youth 7–17 years of age serves campers who are Low Vision/Blind and/or Hard of Hearing/Deaf. The July 5th–July 11th Camp Lions Youth Week for youth 7–17 years of age serves campers who are Hard of Hearing/Deaf and Low Vision/Blind. The July 12th–July 18th Camp Lions Hard of Hearing/Deaf Youth Week for youth 7–17 years of age serves campers who are Hard of Hearing/Deaf. The July 19th–July 25th Camp Lions Low Vision/Blind Youth Week for youth 7–17 years of age serves campers who are Low Vision/Blind. Check-in for each session is on Sunday from 2pm–4pm, and check-out is on Saturday from 9am–11am. Registration for Camp Lions Youth Camps opens October 20th.
Camp Lions Youth Camps operates under the Lions of Illinois Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose mission is to serve people throughout Illinois with vision and hearing needs. The Lions of Illinois Foundation states that it exists to assist in the general improvement of the quality of life of those in Illinois having unmet needs, with a specific mission to provide programs and services for the detection, treatment, and rehabilitation of visual and hearing needs, either on its own or in conjunction with Lions Clubs, foundations, and other organizations. The leadership team connected with the program includes Trish Fisher, Associate Director; Jyllann Torres, Assistant to Programs Director; Max Kruse, Camp Registrar; Andrew Scarborough, Social Services/Front Desk; Nicole Burke, Media Designer; Joshua Fisher, Logistics Coordinator; Dianne Ortega, Fundraising Manager; Kirsten Kotlarchik, Accounts Manager LIF/LIEF; and Ron Fruit, PDG, Executive Director.
