About

Lan-Oak Park District Programs include American Red Cross Swim Lessons and other swim lessons, access to a fitness center, and a StoryWalk at Van Laten Park. The StoryWalk at Van Laten Park features a Book of the Month, with the current book titled “Tuesday.” The program also highlights a Pet of the Month feature where a different pet is posted each month, and shares information through Park Notes, the official newsletter of Lan-Oak Park District.

• Schedule: The fitness center is open Monday through Friday year round from 5:30am to 9pm, with Tuesday and Thursday closures from 11:30am to 1:30pm for cleaning and sanitation; on Saturdays and Sundays from June through August it is open 7am to 2pm, and from September through May it is open 7am to 4pm.

The mission of Lan-Oak Park District Programs is to provide the town of Lansing, Illinois with a variety of parks throughout the community, a recreational facility for everyone to enjoy, and programs and activities for all ages. Online registration is available for residents and non-residents. Walking paths at several parks are marked so that specific distances equal one mile, including Erfert Park at two times around the path, Rotary Park at three times around, Van Laten Park at three times around, and Lan-Oak Park at one and a half times around the park.
