About
Champ Camp Great Outdoors is an outdoor day camp that includes nature exploration, hands-on activities, field trips, and outdoor play. Camp cost includes two field trips each week, and families must provide permission before a child participates in any field trip or off-site activity.
• Ages: 5–12 years old
• Schedule: Weekly sessions from 6/8/2026–8/7/2026, with core camp hours from 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., plus before camp care from 7:30–9:00 a.m. and after camp care from 4:00–5:30 p.m.; closed 7/3
• Price: Weekly cost $450 (includes snacks); prorated cost for July Fourth week $360; $25 off per week, per child for select Champ Camp Great Outdoors locations from 11/7/2025 through 04/30/2026
Champ Camp Great Outdoors states that Champions is a safe, healthy place for children and that the safety, security, and health of each child is a top priority. Teachers and staff undergo extensive training on health and safety practices, including pandemic-response protocols, are trained in first aid and CPR, and have training in child development, early childhood education, or a related field. The program conducts criminal background checks for staff. At most sites, breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided, and in sites that provide meal service, the menu satisfies applicable federal and state nutrition guidelines and includes a variety of whole grains, fruits, vegetables, lean protein, and calcium-rich foods.
One 2025 camp parent at Benedictine University reported that her son felt loved by his counselors, that staff got to know the kids and brought out their personalities, and that he had a joy-filled summer. Another 2025 camp parent shared that a 5-year-old daughter attended Champ Camp during summer 2025 and enjoyed every day, describing the camp as fun, educational, and friendly.
