Champ Camp Great Outdoors follows the mission of Champions: “Champions is a safe, healthy place for your child to thrive. Education and development are important, but we know that the safety, security, and health of your child is your top priority—and it’s ours, too.” Teachers and staff undergo extensive training on health and safety practices, including pandemic-response protocols, and are trained in first aid and CPR. Staff members are trained in child development, early childhood education, or a related field, and criminal background checks are conducted. Financial assistance information is available. Wellness screening is located near the Family Communication Area, only authorized staff and families may enter sites, all sites include smoke detectors and fire extinguishers, and there are strict procedures for pick-up and drop-off, including sign-in/sign-out and photo identification. Staff are regularly trained on safety measures related to field trips or other off-site activities, and each site has an emergency evacuation plan that is tested frequently. Most sites offer breakfast, lunch, and snacks, and where meal service is provided, the menu satisfies applicable federal and state nutrition guidelines.

Parent feedback from summer 2025 includes comments that counselors got to know the kids and that one camper “felt so loved and always had the warmest things to say about his counselors,” and another parent described the camp as “fun, educational and friendly” for their 5-year-old daughter.
