CW Equestrian Center, Inc. is described as a premier, full-service horse boarding facility in a clean, caring, family-oriented environment. The program offers premium, full-care horse boarding in a knowledgeable, caring environment, with barn tours available by appointment and four horse shows a year that are open to the public. At schooling shows, refreshments and snacks are offered, and High Point awards are given at the final show on November 15th with no cost to enter for those who have shown in at least two shows.

The program is led by owner and manager Crystal Welsh, MS, who has more than 25 years of experience showing horses and holds a Bachelor of Science specializing in Equine Science (2005) and a Master of Science in Equine Reproductive Physiology (2009). She is an award-winning equestrian and currently serves as President of the Illinois chapter of the Western Dressage Association of America. Her instruction includes teaching riders how to care for and connect with their horses.

The stated mission notes that working with horses can produce confidence, patience, a sense of accomplishment, and the ability to analyze and respond to situations in life. Crystal’s first priority is the safety of her students and horses, and her philosophy is to train so that horse and rider can perform to the full extent of their capabilities with ease. She uses positive reinforcement methods and trains with the classical principles of Dressage and Natural Horsemanship, treating riding lessons as a formal subject with structured lessons, realistic goals, and additional educational information outside of the arena.

CW Equestrian Center is described as a top-rated horse boarding facility in the Metro East area of Illinois and a leader in Western Dressage, with Crystal, her riders, and her horses earning Championships at the Western Dressage World Championship shows each year in Guthrie, Oklahoma. The center is involved with several organizations, including the United States Equestrian Federation, Western Dressage Association of America, Western Dressage Association of Illinois, Mid-Illinois Sport Horse Organization, St. Louis Area Dressage Society, Thoroughbreds Helping Thoroughbreds, Mascoutah Chamber of Commerce, and St. Clair County Farm Bureau.
