About
FieldCrest School of Performing Arts offers performing arts classes that include dance, acting, modeling, etiquette, Hip Hop, majorette, tap, ballet, contemporary, artist development, and creative writing. The program offers 25 classes per week and includes events such as The Actor Monologues, the Family Ties Talent Show, a Fashion Show Luncheon, and a Stageplay Recital. Classes begin September 12th and operate with open enrollment, so students can join anytime.

FieldCrest School of Performing Arts was established in 1977, and by 2024 thousands of students have enrolled. The school is comprised of 16 highly trained artist-in-residences, and founder Donna Davenport possesses a B.A. in Education. The leadership team includes Founder Donna Davenport, President Keli Wells, and Creative Director Liza Brown. The mission of FieldCrest is to create and develop new and enriching productions and to offer children an understanding of the value of their existence by using fine arts to provide a cultural education, with a focus on The Arts, Service to Youth, and Service to Community.
FieldCrest has received several recognitions, including being one of the first performing arts groups to appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 1999, receiving the Disney Award for exceptional performances at Walt Disney World in Florida in 2017, and being invited by Carnival Cruise Lines in 2017 to perform for “Festivals at Sea” onboard the M.S. Fascination to the Bahamas. Founder Donna Davenport is listed in the national register “Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals.” Community involvement includes The Children’s Dance Theater Chicago, which provides free performances and has partnered with The Children’s Museum, Lucent Technologies, Bank One, and the Chicago Historical Society, as well as the Southland Scholarship Foundation, which has awarded $20,000 in scholarships to high school seniors pursuing degrees in the fine arts, and the Southland Men of Tomorrow Mentoring Program, established in 2012.
