Founded in 2007, Chicagoland Indoor Soccer League is founded and operated by John Niestrom. Chicago Fire FC and Chicagoland Indoor Soccer League announced that the MLS club has acquired the league from its founder and operator John Niestrom. The league’s stated mission is to create an environment where every youth soccer player in Chicagoland has the opportunity to play in a structured, supportive setting during Chicago’s winter season. Clubs in the league can expect USSF certified referees, on-site managers, and up-to-date scores and standings, and fall league divisions and team records are carefully considered when placing teams into CISL brackets. The league notes that it is bringing new locations and new formats for the 2025–2026 winter season, including adding Sundays, bringing 7v7 games to THE MAX McCook location and the new TOCA Naperville location, bringing 5v5 and 7v7 games to Orland Hills Community Center, and bringing 5v5, 7v7, and 9v9 games to the GO PRO Dome in Shorewood, Illinois. It also states that Orland Hills Community Center, TOCA Naperville, Max McCook Sport & Expo Facility, ARC Woodridge, and GO PRO Dome are designated for mid to lower level or lower to mid level teams, Romeoville Athletic Center is for all levels of play, and Bridgeview Dome Facility is for the highest level of play.
