About

Rainbow Council Day Camp offers a full day of activities that include STEM projects, water sports, shooting sports, games, and crafts, without any overnight stays. Campers are asked to bring essentials such as a water bottle, a hat, and clothing suited for different weather conditions and active play.

• Ages: 5–11 years old
• Schedule: Multiple week-long day camp sessions with full-day or afternoon-evening hours and no overnight stays

The camp’s mission is to provide character development, citizenship training, and growth in physical, mental, and spiritual fitness, to help create the next generation of leaders. Camp directors are certified through the National Camping School. Day Camp is powered by volunteers, and the program depends on parents and leaders to help staff the camp and to maintain a 2-deep leadership standard. The Boy Scouts of America was chartered by Congress in 1916. Based in Lockport, Illinois, the organization serves youth and adult volunteers across three counties. Program opportunities for young men and women ages 6–20 include Cub Scouts, Scouting, Venturing, and Exploring. At Rainbow Scout Reservation in Morris, IL, Scouts have access to year-round camping, learning, and personal growth. The leadership team includes Council President Rich McCully, Council Commissioner Angelique Minett, Scout Executive Ted Karns, Day Camp leader Darby Brtva, and Resident Camp leader George Nudo.
