There is also a special separate day camp event tailored for youth entering Kindergarten or 1st grade.

• Ages: 5–11 years old
• Schedule: Week 1 runs June 15–18 in Bolingbrook from 9AM–3PM, and Week 2 runs July 13–16 at Rainbow Scout Reservation from 3PM–8PM; Lions Camp meets June 18 in Bolingbrook from 9AM–3PM and July 16 at Rainbow Scout Reservation from 3PM–8PM

Activities at Rainbow Council Day Camp are carefully crafted to help Scouts develop character and confidence, learn about citizenship, and improve their physical and mental health, and adventures count towards completing journeys. Campers are expected to bring essentials such as a water bottle, a hat, and clothing suitable for different weather conditions and active play.

Camp directors are certified through the National Camping School. The leadership team includes Day Camp leader Darby Brtva, Resident Camp leader and Camp Director George Nudo, Scout Executive Ted Karns, Executive Assistant Lynn Zumstein, District Executives Rachel Hampton and Aryanna Neely, Scout Shop Manager and Council Registrar Jessica Volke, Waupecan Lodge Adviser Silas Rea, and Camp Ranger James Fox. The mission of Rainbow Council is to provide character development, citizenship training, and growth in physical, mental and spiritual fitness, to help create the next generation of leaders. The city of Lockport has been a long-time home to Rainbow Council and continues to beautify the outside of the historic building that houses the service center.
