About

Summer Art Camp includes activities such as StoryTime with Art, ABC’s & Art, Lunchtime Art, Teen Clay Camp, daily craft projects, group mural work, and walks in the sculpture park. Camp days can also include a visit to the museum galleries and the family center, and there are options for a one-on-one art lesson, an art party, Private Art Lessons, and a Private Art Party. Students in Lunchtime Art bring their own lunch and create a different art project each day.

• Ages: 7–18 years old
• Schedule: Lunchtime Art meets Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from noon to 1:00 p.m., with themed weeks in July and early August for ages 7–12 and Teen Clay Camp for ages 13–18; StoryTime with Art and ABC’s & Art run on specific July dates.
• Price: Lunchtime Art Activity Fee: $10.00 per week.

Cedarhurst art classes are open to everyone, and registrations are taken in the order received with payment. Classes are limited to 12 students per class, spaces cannot be reserved without payment, and the deadline to enroll is one week before each class begins. Payments by major credit card are accepted by phone or online at www.cedarhurst.org, and a limited number of scholarships are available for those who need financial assistance. There are no refunds on class fees unless the class has been cancelled, but a refund will be made if a replacement can be found or a replacement is provided. Parents, guardians, or caregivers must sign students in and out each day, and in the event of unresolved behavior issues, the student will be suspended from the class and the class fee forfeited. The Shrode Art Center reserves the right to use photographs taken during classes and workshops for publicity and media purposes, and if a parent or guardian does not want a child included in publicity photographs, it is their responsibility to notify art center staff at the time of enrollment. This program is an activity of the John R. and Eleanor R. Mitchell Foundation and is partially sponsored by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council.
