Camp WeWoSeJe stands for “We Would See Jesus” and is an inter-denominational faith based camping ministry. It is a ministry of InFaith and is committed to reaching America for Christ since 1961, with InFaith’s roots going back to 1790 and its official formation on May 13, 1817. The camp’s stated purpose is to evangelize, congregate, and disciple the yet unreached people of Southern Illinois and surrounding areas with an emphasis on youth.
Camp WeWoSeJe specializes in providing a camping experience for youth who typically can’t afford to go to camp and keeps camp affordable by relying on volunteers who serve as first-aid providers, lifeguards, construction workers, plumbers, song leaders, and teachers. Other ministries connected with Tim and Vivian Hoffman include teen clubs, Bible studies, church ministry, discipleship programs, a bus ministry, and college retreats.
Tim and Vivian Hoffman serve as Camp Directors, and Tim also serves as a Field Director ministering to other InFaith missionaries and their families. Emily Baringer is the Program Director, and Sheldon Baringer oversees media and communications.
Campers are asked to pack clothes for a week of camp, including a jacket, pajamas, and a one-piece swimsuit, along with bedding, personal hygiene items, a Bible, pen or pencil, notebook, and optional money for Canteen and Evening Chapel. The dress code states that all clothing must be modest in appearance, shorts must be fingertip length, no tank tops for boys, girls’ straps must be at least three fingers wide, swimsuits must be one-piece, all campers need to be cleaned up for evening chapel, and shoes are required at all times. Super Teen Camp campers need clothes for a banquet on Friday night. Tours of the camp can be arranged by contacting Tim or Vivian.
