Lakeshore Academy Camps – Mt. Prospect includes activities such as open play, instructional time, games, gymnastics classes, and rock climbing. The program also connects to offerings like competitive teams, camps, birthday parties, a Back Handspring clinic, competitions, holiday parties, children’s rock climbing classes, and a competitive youth bouldering team. Lakeshore Academy has been the leading gymnastics school in the Chicago Area since the early 1980’s and has been the leading gymnastics school in Chicago and the Chicago-land area for over thirty years. It continues to have one of the best training facilities in the country, and its highly competitive teams are described as the best in Chicago, the best in Illinois, the best in the Midwest, and the best in the country. In the 2021 to 2022 season, the program had numerous State, Regional, and National Champions, and its members are national champions who compete internationally.
The program’s mission is to create an enjoyable, positive and vigorous environment, to educate children about the importance of self-awareness and physical strength, and to encourage youth to maintain healthy habits and strive for perfection. Lakeshore Academy is a member of USA Gymnastics, the national governing body for the sport of gymnastics in the United States. The program has certified gymnastics and rock climbing instructors who love working with children, and Hidden Peak is described as Chicago’s leading rock climbing gym.
Families are asked to bring a snack for children 5 years and up. Campers need to bring a lunch daily, and on Fridays the program hosts Pizza or Hotdog Day. Any student under 18 must have a parent signature in order to participate in class, full class payment is due at the time of enrollment, all enrollment must be done online, and no walk-ins are accepted. Some field trips may have an additional fee.
