Stacee's Art Room is led by artist and founder Stacee Kalmanovsky, who holds a BFA (2004) and an MFA (2012). In 2012, she received her Masters in Fine Art from the University of Chicago, where she was a course and teaching assistant for two years. She immigrated to Chicago from Belarus with her family in 1989 at age 7 and was classically trained by Skokie artists Leonid and Sonya Osseny. She lived in Florence, Italy for over five years between her Bachelors and Masters degrees, where she made and showed her work, and she has exhibited in the United States, Canada, and Italy. Six years after founding Stacee's Art Room, she states that she feels thankful to be doing what she loves most.

The program’s mission states that through material study and experimentation all ideas are brought into creation. The mission also states agreement with Picasso that every child is an artist until they forget, and that Stacee is there to make sure they will not. The mission explains that students are engaged with classical and contemporary methods, with encouragement of creativity, self-expression, and an open mind, and that Stacee is present every step of the way making sure each young artist has the tools and skills to realize their artistic intention.

Stacee’s Art Room notes that its art studio, pool, private beach, park, and chickens await participants. One parent testimonial describes Stacee as a “beyond talented teacher” who is “amazing with kids,” and notes that their children would wait all week for their art lesson and that the art projects were “very impressive.” The program thanks families for supporting a local business.
