Founded in 2007, Chicagoland Indoor Soccer League (CISL) is described as the premier indoor soccer league in Illinois. The league uses USSF certified referees and on-site managers, and it provides up-to-date scores and standings. Its mission is to create an environment where every youth soccer player in Chicagoland has the opportunity to play in a structured, supportive setting during Chicago’s winter season. Chicago Fire FC has acquired the league from its founder and operator, John Niestrom. CISL partners with what it describes as seven top quality indoor facilities and hosts 800+ teams and 10,000–12,000 youth players annually, with 60+ clubs participating. The league notes that fall league divisions and team records are carefully considered when placing teams into CISL brackets, and it lists new locations and formats coming for the 2025–2026 winter season, including added 5v5, 7v7, and 9v9 options and added Sundays.
