Adagio School of Performing Arts

Adagio School of Performing Arts offers daily dance classes in Ballet, Pointe, Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Musical Theater, Creative Movement, Adult Cardio Pop, and Adult Barre Blast. Additional classes include Barre, Pound, Pk Combo, Stretch Leaps & Turns, and Acrobat. Students have the option to perform in Adagio’s annual Summer Dance Festival and to travel with an award-winning competition team, and dancers work with professional artists from around the country during workshops and choreography classes. Adagio has invested in a high quality dance facility with four studio rooms that have marley-covered sprung floors and air conditioning.

Adagio staff members have earned college-level degrees and training in dance performance and teaching. The program’s mission states a belief in the consistent progression of students’ technique and self-esteem through instruction and the students’ drive and commitment to dance, with a focus on each individual’s growth as both a dancer and a person. The curriculum for each dance genre is organized so that students progress through a leveled program, and the mission emphasizes hard work, striving for improvement, self-discipline, respect for others, and respect for the art of dance. The mission also states that students may dance for recreation or work toward a high level of technique and performing skills that could lead to a professional career, and that the goal is to have an event where dancers experience performing as a celebration of their progress, hard work, and talent, with low stress and high energy. Adagio School of Performing Arts has received the ADCC Studio of Excellence 2022 award.
