Summer Day Camp

Summer Day Camp includes games and sports, arts and crafts, outdoor adventures, and science and technology activities. The program offers a day camp experience that teaches essential leadership and social skills and helps kids build character and develop confidence and independence. Summer at the Y allows kids the space to grow stronger and more confident in a safe, nurturing environment, and scholarships for Summer Day Camp are available through the Ottawa YMCA Annual Campaign Help Send a Child to Camp. When a child is at this day camp, their total well-being is nurtured and supported by caring Y staff who are committed to making their experience a great one, and the program emphasizes that kids need to feel both physically and emotionally safe to have fun and thrive. From games and sports to arts and crafts to outdoor adventures to science and technology, the camp offers kids the chance to learn new things and enjoy new adventures.

Since 1956, the Ottawa YMCA has been a community leader in child development, wellness, sports, aquatics, families, and seniors. The leadership team includes Glenn Haley as the new Chief Executive Officer. The organization states that it is more than a building and programs, with a purpose to strengthen the foundations of community. The Ottawa YMCA was recently honored in “Ottawa YMCA named WOW Factor YMCA.”
