Main Street Dance offers classes in Ballet, Pointe, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, and AcroDance. The program follows a full year curriculum that includes dance vocabulary and stage direction as part of the training. Pre-pointe through advanced pointe training focuses on proper turnout, strength, and injury prevention.
• Price: All-inclusive rates; tuition for classes and the performance group include costume fees, registration & performance fees, entry fees (where applicable) and one Showcase digital download per student.
Main Street Dance provides training and inspiration to recreational through pre-professional students through a defined curriculum that incorporates technique and performance opportunities, sharing its stated passion for the art of dance. Artistic Directors and instructors hold BFA Degrees in Dance Performance & Theater. The Main Street Dance Company is described as an accomplished group of dancers who have been recognized for their performances, strong technique, and standout choreography, and they attend 4–6 conventions or competitions each year. The Company offers performing opportunities and competition experience and states that it instills self-confidence and respect for others while building lasting relationships through team unity and the art of dance, with auditions held in June and mandatory summer enrollment for Company members. The studio notes a family atmosphere, with the environment and curriculum described as designed to build confidence and provide a memorable, positive, and rewarding experience inside and outside the classroom.
The MSD student showcase is held each year in early June at a professionally equipped auditorium, with an annual Spring Showcase and ticket sales handled online through a link on the program’s Facebook page. MSD may accept late enrollment or late placement for new students based on class openings and, in some cases, instructor recommendation. Information packets for the following year are available at the front desk by May 1, and details on summer and fall class requirements are outlined in that packet.
An on-site boutique carries Bloch, Mirella, and Capezio leotards, tights, ballet skirts, dance bags, Bloch dance shoes, warm-ups, gifts, competition jewelry, pointe shoe accessories, and related items.
