Steel Beam Theatre Youth Programs

Steel Beam Theatre Youth Programs include acting, singing, and dancing activities. Participants rehearse scenes, songs, and choreography inspired by Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Jr., and take part in a musical theatre dance workshop inspired by the hit musical Newsies. Both programs conclude with a performance for families during the last hour on Friday.

Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Jr. Camp culminates in a final showcase performance for family and friends during the last hour of camp on Friday. The Newsies Musical Theatre Dance Intensive focuses on movement, dancing, and performance skills, with dynamic choreography set to the songs of Newsies and a mini performance for families during the last hour on Friday. The program is directed by Lexi Colatorti, choreographed by Tavian Covington, with music direction by Ariela Policastro, and Lexi Colatorti serves as the SBT Youth Coordinator. Steel Beam Theatre states a mission to produce quality professional theatre in the Fox Valley and to provide youth education and performance offerings, and it is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Steel Beam Theatre programming is underwritten in part by organizations referred to as “Friends of Steel Beam Theatre,” and the theatre depends on the support of donors as a small local arts organization.
