Northern Illinois Dance Center offers professional dance classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, and contemporary for children and teens. The program also offers barre-based classes, adult barre classes, and a FlexFix class that focuses on dancer strength, flexibility, and stamina. The program’s community involvement includes offering professional dance classes for children and teens throughout Sycamore, DeKalb, Genoa, Rochelle, Hampshire, and surrounding Northern Illinois communities. Atlee currently serves as Family & Community Liaison for a neighboring school district, building partnerships between families, schools, and community resources. Adult barre-based fitness classes at the studio use the ballet barre, yoga- and pilates-inspired postures, resistance bands, light dumbbells, and body resistance work, and they end with about a 15-minute yoga-inspired cool down for total body stretching. The studio also offers a competitive program, Elevation Dance Company, directed by Atlee.
