About

Vandalia Public Swimming Pool Programs include swimming lessons, lifeguard training, aqua aerobics, parent-tot swimming, Wednesday morning free swimming, and Moonlight Madness. The programs take place during the pool’s open season and use the pool facilities managed by the Vandalia Park District, which also oversees multiple other park areas with sports fields and courts.

• Schedule: Seasonal programs run from Memorial Day through Labor Day, with general pool hours Sunday through Friday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Saturday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Wednesday morning free swim from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, and Moonlight Madness every 3rd Friday of the pool season from 6:00 pm to 11:45 pm.

Through the efforts of numerous organizations and agencies, the City of Vandalia constructed the approximately one-mile Lincoln Walking Trail in 2001, and it is used extensively on a daily basis. The Vandalia Park District manages six separate park areas totaling 60 acres, which include the swimming pool along with baseball and softball diamonds, sand volleyball courts, soccer fields, tennis courts, and the Evans Youth Center.
