ARC Center and ZONE250, 201 W. National Street, West Chicago, IL 60185
About
West Chicago Park District Summer Camp includes sports, fitness, games, arts and crafts, outdoor exploration, crafts, play, field trips, and some “splashtastic” fun. All activities listed for the camp are included in the price of camp.
• Ages: 3–13 years old
• Schedule: 2025 Season: June 2–August 22; Before & After care is available every day.
• Price: Save 5% if you pay in full at the time of registration when self-registering online or at the front desk more than 1 week in advance. Applies to Camp Keppler and Camp Wego weekly registrations and does not apply to AM/PM extended care.
Campers must bring a sack lunch, beverage, and two snacks each day. Parents receive an email with a link to ePact electronic participant documents, and these documents must be completed at least two days before the child’s start date; participants are not considered registered and are unable to participate until forms are completed. Families may use an EZ Payment Plan with charges automatically made to a credit card on the 1st and 15th of the month, and the program reserves the right to remove participants from a Summer Camp session and/or the EZ Payment Plan due to declined transactions. If switching payment methods after registration, there is a $5 fee per session. If a child requires a 1:1 WDSRA aide, registration is requested by Wednesday, April 30th, and registration after that date does not guarantee support will be available. An Early Bird Camp Discount is offered, and a 5% savings is available when paying in full at the time of registration more than one week in advance.
The West Chicago Park District was established in 1972 and has been serving the community for over 50 years. The District states its mission as “Creating an enhanced quality of life through effective programs, progressive facilities and preservation of parks and natural resources in a fiscally responsible manner.” The District is highly committed to creating a healthier community as a core member of the Healthy West Chicago initiative. Leadership connected to the program includes Recreation Supervisor Pam Schiavoni, an Executive Director of Parks and Recreation (full-time, name not stated), and Superintendent of Parks Mike Gasparini. The District also operates an 862 kW grid-interactive photovoltaic system that is projected to produce 1,150,000 kWh annually, offset about 84% of the energy used by the ARC Center and Zone 250 per year, and save approximately one million dollars over a 20-year commitment with Trane Technologies.
