The Danada Equestrian Center promotes safe, humane horse-handling practices and care by advancing the relationship between humans and their equine companions. Danada offers programs to introduce individuals to horses, their behaviors, lifelong care and companionship, and only the summer camps and Horsemanship Badge for Scouts include an opportunity to ride the horses in those horse-related programs. Weeklong summer camps introduce kids and teens entering grades five through eight to the daily activities of a working barn and hands-on experiences with horses, and No Rush Brush Grooming is for people who want to spend time with a horse without riding or who want to get comfortable around a horse on the ground before a first lesson. The Trail Obstacle Class focuses on educational aspects of riding on trails, including those in the DuPage forest preserves, and the Guided Trail Ride incorporates good trail practices with a discovery of native flora and fauna. Each session of the Five-Part Ownership Lecture Series includes a 60-minute lecture followed by 60 minutes of practical, hands-on applications in the Kentucky-style barn. The center partners with the nonprofit Friends of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County to help connect people to nature, and dogs are allowed at the center if they are on leashes under 10 feet long while alcohol is prohibited.
