Ramah Day Camp

Ramah Day Camp includes daily activities in small kvutzot, with campers joining their age division for tefillah, sports, instructional swim, and free swim. Younger campers sample a wide variety of camp activities, and older campers choose from a variety of electives. The camp offers Chaverim for entering pre-K and kindergarten, Amitzim for entering grade 1, Bonim for entering grade 2, Giborim for entering grade 3, Kochavim for entering grade 4, Gesher for entering grades 5-8, Counselors-in-Training for entering grade 9, and Sha’ar Chicago Hebrew Immersion for entering grades 1, 2, and 3.

About the provider

Ramah Day Camp says it creatively blends Jewish values into activities focused on four pillars: joy, growth, connection, and inclusion. It draws campers from all over the Chicagoland area, including the suburbs and the city, and bussing is provided for those who need it.

Campers are divided into an eidah (division) according to grade and further divided into kvutzot (small groups). The camp offers age-tailored programming for campers as young as entering pre-K through entering eighth graders. Ninth and tenth graders can join as counselors-in-training. The full summer session runs eight weeks from mid-June through mid-August. Campers can also opt for the first or second four-week session. Swimming is weather-permitting; campers enjoy the pools twice a day. The camp includes a warm, family-like atmosphere and a nurturing staff.
