Theatre 121 Children’s Programs include activities such as the Children’s Summer Workshop, children’s theatre through Storybook Players, and a beginner tap dance workshop. The program also offers Come Out Singin' TEEN, the T121 Self-IMPROVment Group, themed sessions like “Witches, Wizards, and Potions on Stage!”, and a Beetlejuice Jr. Program Shout-Out Fundraiser. Storybook Players produces plays for young audiences that are available online or in person, and focuses on reaching those who do not have easy access to live theatre.

Theatre 121 is a non-for-profit 501(c)(3) theatre company that was formed in 2019 through the merger of TownSquare Players, Inc. and Woodstock Musical Theatre Company. TownSquare Players, Inc. and Woodstock Musical Theatre Company have produced theatre in Woodstock for over 50 years, and Theatre 121 has been bringing live theatre to McHenry County since 1967. Theatre 121 runs a five-play season that includes musicals and plays, and it produces a Children’s Summer Workshop and children’s theatre through Storybook Players. The organization’s mission states that it is an inclusive theater for the McHenry County area, providing education, connections, and community through excellence in the arts, and that it supports educational opportunities for youth and adults. Theatre 121 was voted The Best Theatre Company in McHenry County in 2025. Its leadership team includes President / Membership: Emily Kunash; Vice President / Education: Justin Charles; Secretary / Special Events: Tracy Parr; Treasurer / Marketing: Kelsey Medcalf; Director at Large, SARA commission: Jeffrey Graf; and Director at Large, Encore! commission: Reede Norlie. Theatre 121 notes that it strengthens community bonds by drawing visitors to Woodstock and area businesses, developing skills both on and off the stage, and providing entertainment and a sense of community for all.
